I found ownerwiz.oom while on a site looking for a new place to rent. I clicked on an ad inviting me to Rent To Own. Before I knew it I had signed up for Freecreditreport.com and their fees that would apply after 7 days. After e-mailing the rent to own company I had signed up and had my credit score, I was puzzled because after clicking on a new link they sent me, I was now required to sign up "for free" at UltraForeclosures.com. I noticed they took 39.95 out of my checking account immediately even though there is a 7-9 day grace period. Ownerwiz did not request I go to annualcreditreport.com where my credit report would actually be free. I was puzzled as well as to why it takes freecreditreport.com 48 hours to get my actual report from Experian when it takes lenders 5 minutes. Last year I was able to get an annual credit report from all three reporting agencies for free. Anyway, I'm getting some high pressure sales techniques now. Robert James wants to know what's taking me so long to e-mail him a list of houses I'd like to own. Then he sends me another demand after I already sent him a list just hours before. I also noticed the "down payment" that I said I could afford $500-$1000 had been increased to $2500 minimum. I feel pressured to take a good deal with the understanding that if I don't I'm just not that bright. After having time to think with a clear head and 8 hours of sleep, I felt like a scam was in the works and called the freecreditreport.com customer support phone number and canceled them. Then I called UltraForeclosures.com and canceled their membership. Robert James' first contact with me was after I canceled the membership. I hope I get my money back into my account at least at the end of the "trial period." I also wondered why someone would need to pay a $39.95 monthly membership fee to obtain lists of foreclosed homes to possibly rent to own if I'm supposedly going to be in one within 30 days. If I'm out my money at least it's only $39.95 and not thousands of dollars. I saw one RipOff Report and other blogs stating this is likely a scam. There were only one or two that seemed hopeful. I did not find any reports or blogs that were able to give a definitive positive report.
